Clara Hodges McFadden began working for the the College of Charleston in 1991 and joined the Office of Academic Affairs in 1993 as an Administrative Specialist. Hodges graduated from Gordon H. Garrett High School in North Charleston, SC in 1972 and has attended numerous workshops/seminars pertaining to Office Administrative Assistant Technology. She is currently the Administrative Assistant to the Provost and Associate Provosts.  While handling information pertaining to the Provost's correspondence, calendar, and travel, she also serves as office support for key processes and projects for which the Office of the Provost bears primary responsibility. She serves as staff support for the Cathy Peebles, the Office Manager in preparing faculty appointment letters and in maintaining faculty, department, and program directors' personnel files. She provides support for all external evaluations, accreditation, Commission on Higher Education program studies, awards ceremonies, and Commencement.
