Curriculog


New Fall 2017!

Curriculog - the new College of Charleston online curriculum process system. This software, contracted through Digarc, will transition and modernize the College's curriculum processes from paper forms to electronic forms in Fall 2017. Along with this modernization come many benefits, including one single version of each proposal at all times, advanced organization for proposal originators and reviewers, and full transparency of the workflow process. While Academic Affairs oversees Curriculog, creating curricular proposals and the review of curriculum is a function and a responsibility of the faculty and the relevant Faculty Senate committees.

Curriculog is directly connected with the College's online catalog database, Acalog. This allows users to import courses and programs from next year's draft catalog to create proposals for modification. Through this integration, users are always operating with the most current information for curriculum proposals. Users also have the ability to run impact reports to see what other courses and programs would be affected by the change being proposed. (Acalog is the College's electronic catalog system, which is overseen by the Office of the Registrar.)


Accessing Curriculog

Curriculog is live to the campus! Access to the system is only available to faculty members through MyCharleston (my.cofc.edu). After logging in, select the Faculty tab and the Curriculog access link will be available in the middle column, along with additional helpful resources. Please contact CurriculogHelp@cofc.edu if you have trouble logging in, or experience any other technical issues.

Why Should You Mark Your Calendar?

While Curriculog is not an overly complicated system for savvy digital users, it is new to the College. To help prepare you for the change, we are offering training sessions and open workshops for everyone who may be submitting curricular proposals and for everyone who is responsible for reviewing proposals as they move through the approval process. See below for a description of each offering, and the dates/times/locations they will be held.

Training Sessions

The training sessions are broken into two categories: 'reviewer' and 'originator'. The reviewer sessions are intended for faculty and administrators who are in 'reviewer/approver' roles for curriculum proposals. This includes (but is not limited to) program directors, department chairs, deans, Faculty Senate curriculum committee chairs, the Faculty Secretary, and the Speaker of the Faculty. The originator sessions are intended for all faculty members who plan to submit curriculum change proposals.

**Attendance at a training session is strongly recommended, as the open workshops are intended for assisting faculty working on curriculum proposals, and will not include the training presentation.

Open Workshops

Throughout the year, open workshops will be available for faculty members to drop by with their current curriculum proposal material. These workshops will be held in a computer lab, so faculty will be able to access their email accounts and the Curriculog system to work on their current curriculum proposal(s). A Curriculog System Administrator will be on hand to aid with technical questions as needed.
