Program and Minor Proposals

(New, Modification, Termination)

New programs (i.e., new majors, new graduate programs, etc.) and program modifications (i.e., the addition of an 18+ hour concentration, changing a concentration to a major, etc.) must be approved by CHE and SACSCOC. New minors and minor modifications (i.e., changing an existing minor, or terminating) may also need SACSCOC review. Prior to submitting any of these types of proposals in  Curriculog, please first submit a notification form to Academic Affairs (link to form found below). Continue to consult with Academic Affairs, the SACSCOC Liaison, the relevant Academic Dean(s), and the Graduate School (if graduate curriculum) throughout the curriculum proposal process. In addition, please consult all of the relevant documentation on the on the Curriculum Committee or the Graduate School's websites. 

Complete the steps outlined below for the following types of Curriculog proposals: 

  • Major/Program/Certificate : New
  • Major/Program/Certificate : Change
  • Major/Program/Certificate : Terminate
  • Minor : New
  • Minor : Change/Termination

Undergraduate Programs and Minors

  1. Submit a Notification
  2. Contact Mark Del Mastro (delmastromp@cofc.edu) in Academic Affairs for a brief meeting to review your proposal plans.
  3. Submit a Full Proposal: Use the Curriculog system to submit your proposal(s). Full proposals are due by the deadlines posted on the Curriculum Committee website. The critical deadline for each review cycle is the Provost step. Remember that curriculum proposals are reviewed by several campus committees and offices. You can easily see where your proposal is in the process by looking at the Curriculog workflow associated with each proposal. The CC's website also provides detailed information about the process.

Graduate Programs
