Beth Murphy

Assistant to the Provost for Budget and Personnel

Beth Murphy serves as Assistant to the Provost for Budget and Personnel of the Academic Affairs Division. Beth received her B.A. degree in History from the College of Charleston in 1989 and has over 25 years of experience. Since 1989, she has been employed in the Office of Academic Affairs in a variety of roles. As Assistant to the Provost, Beth is the staff lead on the coordination of all divisional budgets, including the review of permanent and temporary personnel salaries, adjunct faculty budgets, event budgets, and foundation accounts. She provides oversight and analytical support for all division indices and supports annual budgeting work. Ms. Murphy also assists the Provost directly with any special requests for budgetary reports and the coordination of related resources for the Board of Trustees.  She manages the coordination of unclassified administrator personnel information and issues. She serves as the primary contact for all information concerning faculty and administrators for the Academic Affairs Division. She oversees coordination of the roster faculty processes, including Tenure and Promotion, Third Year Review, Post-Tenure Review, sabbaticals, and leave of absence. In this role, she also serves as the one of the system administrators for SharePoint® sites used for Tenure and Promotion and Post-Tenure Review. Murphy is also responsible for the coordination of the teaching appointment process, including adjunct, affiliate, and retired faculty appointments, as well as additional pay appointments for staff and roster faculty members. Beth serves as the primary front-end system administrator for the Teaching Effort Workflow, the College's online teaching appointments workflow system.
