Before your first day

Complete the New Faculty Checklist, including submitting your background check and completing your E-Verification Employment process, which includes presenting your drivers license and SSN card (or your passport or other acceptable ID) in person with HR by the deadlines stated. Also, submit your academic credentials (e.g., your CV and your official transcript or official U.S. equivalency document) to your department chair or director, and stay in touch with your department or school about any additional onboarding instructions specific to your unit.

New Faculty Orientation This program, held just before the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, offers an opportunity to gather information on campus policies and resources and become acquainted with other new faculty. Please review the agenda and instructions on how to attend. The Fall 2020 orientation will be hosted virtually from August 17 - 21, 2020.
Buses & Parking Permits Due to our downtown campus location, parking spaces are limited on campus, and other options including free express buses and carpooling are encouraged. Please visit Parking Services for options. For year-round parking permits, please complete a parking permit application on MyCharleston under "My Account."
Resources for Faculty CofC is committed to providing the support faculty need to succeed in their careers at the College of Charleston. This page provides links to numerous important resources related to teaching, research, service, and professional development for faculty.
Learning Your ID Number

You can find your campus wide identification number, CWID, using the Locate Your CWID form. This link can also be found by going to the MyCharleston homepage and clicking "Get Login Assistance." Once you have your CWID, follow the instructions provided to you by your department on how to log into MyCharleston for the first time.

Email and Password

Go to the CofC Online Directory and enter your name. If a campus account has already been created for you, your email appears beside your name and is generally your last name and first initial of your first name.  Your CofC COUGARS username will show up as the beginning of your email address.  If you do not have a Directory username and email, the College has not yet completed your appointment in our employment database. Contact your department to find out how soon they will be able to do so. If you have not completed your background check and e-verification process with HR, your account will not be activated.

ALL employees should have a MAIL@COFC.EDU account. All employees must setup multi-factor authentication.
